Silver futures down 0.46% on weak global cues

Speculators pare positions as metal sheds 0.6% in Singapore

Silver prices fell by 0.46 per cent to Rs 44,818 per kg in futures market today as speculators reduced positions on weak cues from global markets.
    
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in March fell by Rs 206, or 0.46 per cent, to Rs 44,818 per kg in a business turnover of 1,984 lots.
    
May silve rlost Rs 112, or 0.24 per cent, to Rs 45,899 per kg in 46 lots.
    
Market analysts said speculators reduced their positions on weak cues from the global market which kept pressure on silver prices at futures trade.
      
Meanwhile, silver dropped 0.6 per cent to $20.20 an ounce in Singapore.
