Silver declined by 0.41% to Rs 53,115 per kg in futures trade today as speculators locked in gains amid a weakening trend overseas.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for July delivery dropped by Rs 218, or 0.41%, to Rs 53,115 per kg, with a business volume of 3,492 lots.
September delivery also fell by Rs 191, or 0.35%, to Rs 53,970 per kg, with a trade turnover of 220 lots.
Market analysts said profit booking by participants and a weak trend in the Asian region put pressure on the silver futures here.
Meanwhile, silver declined by 0.90% to $35.27 an ounce in the Asian region.
