Amid profit-booking by speculators and weak trend overseas, silver prices moved down by Rs 262 to Rs 58,415 per kg in futures trade today.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the March contract for silver fell by Rs 262, or 0.45%, to Rs 58,415 per kg, with a business turnover of 10,013 lots.

The May contract lost Rs 240, or 0.40%, to Rs 60,060 per kg, with a business turnover of 1,678 lots.

Marketmen said profit-booking by speculators after recent gains and similar trends overseas, led to the decline in silver prices at futures trade.

Meanwhile, silver prices fell by 0.08% to $35.34 an ounce at midday today in Singapore.
