Silver prices traded slightly lower by Rs 53, or 0.18 per cent to Rs 29,340 per kg, in futures trade today owing to slack demand at domestic markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, silver for September contract declined by Rs 53, or 0.18 per cent to Rs 29,340 per kg, with an open interest of 1,209 lots.
The metal for delivery in July-month contract also lost Rs 0.52, or 0.18 per cent to Rs 29,256 per kg, with a business volume of 13,766 lots.
The fall in silver futures prices was due to subdued demand at existing higher levels, traders said.
