Silver futures edge up on good overseas trend

Silver futures firmed up by 0.35 per cent today on sustained buying by traders and speculators. At 1115 hours on the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for the July month contract rose by 0.35 %to Rs 20,448 per kg, in a trading volume of 62 lots, while the May contract climbed 0.27 % to Rs 20,225 per kg clocking 908 lots.
   
Buying activity maintained momentum as the metal in the overseas markets gained substantial ground, marketmen said. They said some buying in the spot market also fuleed the upward trend in futures.
