Silver prices gained Rs 65, or 0.22 per cent, to Rs 29,055 per kg in the futures market today on pick up in demand in view of the festive season.
A firming global trend also influenced the trading sentiment.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, silver for September month gained Rs 65 to Rs 29,055 per kg with an open interest of 19,266 lots.
The metal for delivery in December month also traded higher by Rs 62, or 0.21 per cent, to Rs 29,150 per kg in 1,535 lots.
Market analysts said pick up in demand at the spot market following the festive season amid a firming global trend influenced silver prices in the futures trade.
Meanwhile, silver rose by 2.11 per cent to $18.35 an ounce in New York last evening.
