Silver futures improve on spot demand

Silver prices gained Rs 133, or 0.45 per cent, to Rs 29,450 per kg in futures trade today on pick up in demand in the spot market. 

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for March gained Rs 133, or 0.45 per cent, to Rs 29,450 per kg with an open interest of 168 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in September month traded higher by Rs 81, or 0.28 per cent, to Rs 29,201 in 19,641 lots.

Marketmen said pick up in demand in the spot market, supported by the festive season mainly led to the rise in silver prices in futures trade.

 

Meanwhile, silver traded higher by 0.3 per cent to $18.51 an ounce in London.
