Silver futures rise 0.4% on global cues

Silver prices recovered, speculators create fresh positions.

Silver prices recovered by Rs 167 to Rs 43,429 per kg in futures trading today as speculators created fresh positions buoyed by a firm global trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in July traded Rs 167, or 0.39%, higher at Rs 43,429 per kg in business turnover of 1,274 lots.

Likewise, the white metal for delivery in the September contract traded higher by Rs 144, or 0.33%, to Rs 44,062 per kg in 25 lots.

Market analysts said fresh positions built up by speculators buoyed by a firm global trend pushed up silver prices at futures trade.
 

Meanwhile, silver rose 0.25% to $22.33 an ounce in Singapore.
