Silver futures rise on global cues

Silver prices rose by Rs 86, or 0.28 per cent, to Rs 31,320 per kg in futures market today, as speculators enlarged their positions on pick in demand at spot markets.

Firming trend in the Asian region also influenced the trading sentiment.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange platform, silver for delivery in December rose Rs 86, or 0.28 per cent, to Rs 31,320 per kg, with an open interest of 30,183 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in March-month gained Rs 84, or 0.27 per cent, to Rs 31,436 per kg, with an open interest of 1,347 lots.

Marketmen said positions enlarged by speculators and reports of firming trend in prices in the Asian region supported the rise in silver prices at futures trade.

 

Meanwhile, silver traded higher by 0.40 per cent to $19.96 an ounce in Asian region.
