Silver prices rose by Rs 510 to Rs 51,160 per kg in futures trading today as speculators enlarged their positions on the back of a firming global trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in July rose by Rs 510, or 1.01%, to Rs 51,160 per kg, with a business turnover of 6,774 lots.

September silver moved up by Rs 510, or 0.99%, to Rs 52,072 per kg, with an open interest of 1,632 lots.

Market analysts said fresh buying by speculators in tandem with a firming global trend mainly pushed up silver futures prices.

Meanwhile, silver traded 0.38% higher at $34.07 an ounce in the Asian region.
