Silver prices moved up by Rs 33 to Rs 52,117 per kg in futures trading today on emergence of buying at existing lower levels, amid better trend in global markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for May contract moved up by Rs 33, or 0.06 per cent, to Rs 52,117 per kg, with business volume of 10 lots.

Similarly, the white metal for delivery in July edged up by Rs 21, or 0.04 per cent, to Rs 52,871 per kg, with a business volume of just one lot.

Market analysts said fresh buying at prevailing lower levels and reports of better trend in global markets mainly helped silver prices to trade higher.

Meanwhile, silver rose 0.6 per cent to $34.44 an ounce in Asia.
