Silver prices fell by Rs 88 to Rs 44,364 per kg in futures trading today, as speculators preferred to book profits at existing higher levels, supported by weak trend at spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, silver for September fell by Rs 88, or 0.20 per cent, to Rs 44,364 per kg, with a business volume of single lot.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in March declined by Rs 55, or 0.13 per cent to Rs 43,787 per kg, with a trading volume of one lot.

Marketmen said besides profit booking, fall in demand at existing higher levels mainly led to the decline in silver futures prices.
