Silver prices slipped by Rs 139 to Rs 53,903 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits at existing high levels amid weak trend in Asian region.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for September delivery fell by Rs 139, or 0.26%, to Rs 53,903 per kg, with a business turnover of 418 lots.

July delivery moved down by Rs 120, or 0.23%, to Rs 53,073 per kg, with a business volume of 8,784 lots.

Market analysts said profit-taking by speculators at existing high levels amid weak trend in Asian region led to the fall in silver prices at futures trade.

Meanwhile, silver shed 0.06% to $35.37 an ounce in Asian region.
