Silver prices slipped marginally by Rs 9, or 0.03 per cent, to Rs 28,973 per kg in futures trading today owing to slack demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, silver for December-month shed Rs 9, or 0.03 per cent, to Rs 28,973 per kg, with an open interest of 3,000 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in September traded marginally lower by Rs 8, or 0.03 per cent, to Rs 28,813 per kg, with a business volume of 22,569 lots.

Marketmen said reduced offtake on fall in demand in the spot market mainly led to a decline in silver prices at futures trade.
