Silver futures up 0.3% on global cues

Silver for delivery in July traded 0.30%

Silver futures prices today traded Rs 141 higher at Rs 40,820 per kg, largely in tandem with a rising trend in precious metals in the global markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in July rose by Rs 141, or 0.35%, to Rs 40,820 per kg in a business turnover of 480 lots.

Similarly, silver for delivery in July traded Rs 133, or 0.30%, higher at Rs 40,200 per kg in a turnover of nine lots.

In the international market, silver added 10.90 cents, or 0.60% to $19.56 an ounce in New York in yesterday's trade.

Analysts said a firming trend in precious metals in the global market on speculation that recent plunge in prices will spur physical demand, influenced by silver prices at futures trade here.
