Silver futures up 0.3% on global cues

Gains in the precious metals in the overseas markets at lower levels, influenced silver prices

Silver prices at futures trade today rose by 0.31% to Rs 41,148 per kg as speculators built up fresh positions, tracking a firming overseas trend.
 
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver prices for delivery in September rose by Rs 128, or 0.31%, to Rs 41,148 per kg in business turnover of 1,106 lots.
 
On similar lines, the white metal prices for delivery in December traded Rs 123, or 0.29%, higher at Rs 41,885 per kg in a turnover of 29 lots.
 
In the international market, silver gained 0.43%, to trade at $20.01 an ounce in New York yesterday.
 
 
Market analysts said besides short-covering by speculators, gains in the precious metals in the overseas markets at lower levels, influenced silver prices at futures trade here.
