Silver prices moved up by Rs 123 to Rs 58,488 per kg in futures trade today, largely in tandem with a firming global trend.
At the Multi-Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in March rose by Rs 123, or 0.21%, to Rs 58,488 per kg, with a business turnover of 1,103 lots.
The metal for delivery in May traded higher by Rs 89, or 0.15%, to Rs 58,454 per kg, with a business turnover of 45 lots.
Analysts said reports of a firming global trend after the Greece's parliament approved austerity measures to secure a second aid package, mainly supported the upside in silver prices at futures trade here.
Meanwhile, silver rose 0.9% to $33.86 an ounce in Singapore in early trade today.
