Silver prices rose by Rs 30, or 0.10 per cent, to Rs 29,554 per kg in futures trade today on pick up in demand amid firming global trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, silver for September-month rose Rs 30, or 0.10 per cent, to Rs 29,554 per kg, with an open interest of 21,133 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in December moved up by the similar margin at Rs 29,677 per kg, with an open interest of 4,165 lots.

Market analysts said rising demand in the spot markets due to the ongoing festive season amid firming global trend mainly led to a rise in silver prices at futures market here.

Meanwhile, silver gained 0.65 per cent to $18.53 an ounce in New York last evening.
