Silver prices rose by Rs 410 to Rs 73,392 per kg in futures trade today due to sustained buying by speculators amid a firming global trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in December rose by Rs 410, or 0.56% to Rs 73,392 per kg, with a trade volume of a single lot.

Similarly, the metal for delivery May moved up by Rs 238, or 0.33% to Rs 71,319 per kg, with a business turnover of three lots.

Analysts said sustained buying by speculators on the back of a firming trend in New York mainly pushed up silver prices at futures trade.

Meanwhile, silver rose by 1.49% to $48.48 an ounce in New York last night.
