Taking positive cues from global market, silver moved up by 1.23% to Rs 56,260 per kg in futures trading today.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in March rose by Rs 712, or 1.28%, to Rs 56,260 per kg, with a business turnover of 5,401 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in May traded higher by Rs 497, or 1.23%, to Rs 57,363 per kg, with a trade volume of 196 lots.
Analysts said the rise in silver futures prices was mostly supported by a firming trend in the precious metals overseas.
In the Asian region, silver prices rose by 0.84% to $32.47 an ounce in Singapore in early trade today.
