Silver futures weaken on lower Asian trend

Silver prices fell by Rs 194 to Rs 51,505 per kg in futures market today as speculators offloaded their positions on the back of weak Asian trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, for March delivery it fell by Rs 194, or 0.38%, to Rs 51,505 per kg, with a business turnover of 331 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in December lost Rs 123, or 0.24%, to Rs 50,100 per kg, with a business volume of 13,333 lots.

Analysts said the speculators offloaded their positions on the back of a weak trend in Asian region, which led to the decline in silver prices at futures trade.

Meanwhile, silver fell by 1.8% to $29.56 an ounce in Singapore.
