Silver gains 0.24% on high demand

Firm global trend, festive demand influence prices

Silver prices gained 0.24% to Rs 53,536 per kg in the futures market today on pick up in spot demand for the festive season amid a firm global trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in September moved up by Rs 127, or 0.24%, to Rs 53,536 per kg in a business turnover of 3,694 lots.

December silver gained Rs 103, or 0.19%, to Rs 55,294 per kg in 210 lots.

Market analysts said apart from a firm global trend, pick up in demand in the spot market supported by the festive season pushed up silver prices at futures market.

 

Meanwhile, silver gained 0.6% to $28.20 an ounce in Singapore.
