Silver price rose further by 1.20 per cent on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) today on increased buying by speculators amid better global trend.
At 1350 hrs, silver for the most active July contract rose by 1.20 per cent to Rs 22,721 per kg with an open interest of 10,817 lots. It had gained 0.16 per cent in yesterday's trading.
Similarly, silver for delivery in September contract moved up by 1.08 per cent to Rs 22,855 per kg with an open interest of 5,725 lots.
Marketmen said persistent buying by speculators influenced by firm trend in the US market mainly attributed in rise of silver price at futures market here.
Meanwhile, silver traded 0.16 cent higher at 13.99 dollar an ounce in the US market last evening.
