Silver prices rose by Rs 351, or 1.21 per cent to Rs 29,374 per kg in futures market today after speculators enlarged positions, driven by firming trend at global markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, silver for December contract rose Rs 351, or 1.21 per cent to Rs 29,374 per kg, with an open interest of 176 lots.
The metal for delivery in July-month contract also moved up Rs 301, or 1.04 per cent to Rs 29,213 per kg, with a business turnover of 12,689 lots.
Marketmen attributed the gains in silver futures prices to a firming global trend.
Meanwhile, silver rose by 0.78 per cent to $18.09 an ounce in the Asian region.
