Silver shot up by 0.29% to Rs 53,583 per kg in futures trade today following a firming trend in global markets and rising domestic demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, March silver rose by Rs 155, or 0.29%, to Rs 53,583 per kg, with a business volume of 4,536 lots.
The May delivery in May moved up by Rs 130, or 0.24%, to Rs 54,705 per kg, with a trade turnover of 128 lots.
Silver climbed for the fourth day, rising as much as 0.3% to $30.62 an ounce, the highest level in a week, in the global markets.
