Silver up 2% on global cues

Analysts said speculators created fresh positions in tandem with higher global trend, pushing silver prices higher

Silver prices moved up by 2.18% to Rs 43,604 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions, driven by higher global trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in May gained Rs 929, or 2.18% to Rs 43,604 per kg in business turnover of 11,089 lots.

Similarly, the white metal for delivery in July moved up by Rs 892, or 2.05% to Rs 44,353 per kg in 519 lots.

Analysts said speculators created fresh positions in tandem with higher global trend, pushing silver prices higher at futures trade.

Meanwhile, rose by 0.6% to 19.99 dollar an ounce in Singapore.
