Silver prices rose by 0.03 per cent to Rs 32,268 per kg in futures trade today, as speculators enlarged fresh positions, tracking firming trend in the Asian region.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange platform, silver for delivery in December contract rose Rs 12, or 0.03 per cent, to Rs 32,268 per kg, clocked a business volume of 1,175 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in March also moved up by Rs 11, or 0.03 per cent, to Rs 32,390 per kg, with a business volume of 33 lots.
Analysts said speculators enlarged their positions after silver surged in the Asian region as weak dollar raised appeal of commodities as an alternative investment amid strong demand in domestic markets for the festive and marriage season.
Meanwhile, silver traded 0.53 per cent higher at $20.88 an ounce in Asian region.
