Silver up marginally on higher global cues

Fresh buying by speculators pushes up March contract by 0.08%

Silver futures prices today moved up by Rs 52 to Rs 63,533 per kg as speculators created fresh positions, taking positive cues from the overseas market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in March rose by Rs 52, or 0.08%, to Rs 63,533 per kg in a business turnover of 80 lots.

December silver traded higher by Rs 44, or 0.07%, to Rs 61,822 per kg in 2,546 lots.

Market analysts said fresh buying by speculators in tandem with a firm global trend pushed up silver futures.

Meanwhile, silver rose 0.2% to $34.05 an ounce in Singapore.
