SLIDE CONTINUES - Sensex sheds 445pts

The Sensex continues to slide and is now down 445 points at 9312.

There is not a single gainer among the Sensex stocks.

Reliance Energy and HLL have cracked over 7% each to Rs 374 and Rs 204, respectively. HDFC has shed 6.6% to Rs 1,088.

Grasim has plunged 6% to Rs 1,540. ONGC and Cipla have dropped over 5% each to Rs 941 and Rs 201, respectively.

ITC, Reliance and Dr.Reddy's are down over 4.5% each at Rs 145, Rs 851 and Rs 1,211, respectively.

The market breadth is extremely negative - 95.5% of the traded stocks on the BSE are in negative zone. Out of a total of 1,941 stocks traded so far, 1,853 have declined, 77 have advanced and 11 are unchanged.
