Sugar prices recovered slightly at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to mild buying from retailers coupled with better stockists offtake.
Small sugar quality (S-30) rose by Rs 10 per quintal to Rs 2,630/2,680 from yesterday's closing level of Rs 2,620/ 2,680.
Medium sugar quality (M-30) also moved up by Rs 10 per quintal to Rs 2,680/2,760 as against Rs 2,670/2,760.
Following are today's closing rates per quintal, with previous rates in brackets:
Small sugar (S-30) quality Rs 2,630/2,680 (Rs 2,620/ 2,680) and Medium sugar (M-30) quality Rs 2,680/2,760 (Rs 2,670/2,760).
