Small, Mid-cap indices outperform

Markets continue to trade strong this morning.

The Sensex is up 52 points at 17,750. The Nifty is up 15 points at 5,337.

The BSE small-cap and mid-cap indices have outperformed the broader index. The mid cap index has gained 0.6% at 7,166. Rei Six Ten Retail has soared 14% to Rs 63.

Godrej Properties, Hindustan Oil, Godrej Industries and Core Projects are the major gainers in the sector.

The small cap index is up 1% at 9,108. Among the small cap gainers, Edserv Softsystems is leading. The stock has zoomed 15% to Rs 214.

FCS Software, Lloyds Metals, Shrenuj, Indoco Remedies, Ador Welding and Varun Industries are the other major small-cap gainers.

BSE market breadth is positive. Out of 2649 stocks traded, 1,807 have advanced while 749 have declined.
