After two hours of trading, the markets continue to trade range bound. The Sensex is at 18,149, up 75 points and the NIfty is almost static around the 5,444 levels.
However there is some movement in the smallcap space. Of the total 534 scrips traded, 397 scrips have advanced while 125 declined. For the second consecutive day, Raymond has zoomed 20% and continues to the major gainer in this space. The other prominent gainers are Minda Industries and Nirlon, added 13% and 10% respectively.
The midcap space too has seen significant gains. A total of 206 scrips have advanced as against a mere 65 declines. Bombay Dyeing, up 11%, is the top gainer in this index. Info Edge India and Phoenix Mills, up 8% and 7% respectively, are the other significant gainers.
All the indices on the BSE Sectoral Indices are in green. FMCG has advanced 1% to join Bankex and PSU, which are up 1.5% and 1% each.
On the Sensex gainers list, SBI has extended its gains and is now up 2.6%, followed by Tata Steel and ITC, up 2% each.
On the losers list, Sterlite has lost further ground and is now down 3.5% at Rs 161. RCom too has losses of 2%, followed by Mahindra & Mahindra, Jindal Steel & Infosys.
