Small sugar rises on fresh demand

Small sugar prices rose at the Vashi wholesale market here today on the back of fresh buying from stockists and bulk consumers, amid good retail offtake.

Meanwhile, medium sugar variety continued to witness mixed pattern of trading.

Small sugar quality (S-30) spurted by Rs 4/29 per quintal to Rs 2,811/2,845 from its overnight closing level of Rs 2,782/2,841.

Medium sugar quality (M-30) were quoted at Rs 2,831/2,921 per quintal compared to Rs 2,851/2,911 previously.

The following are today's closing rates per quintal, with the previous rates in brackets: 

Medium sugar (M-30) quality Rs 2,831/2,921 (Rs 2,851/ 2,911) and Small sugar (S-30) quality Rs 2,811/2,845 (Rs 2,782/2,841)
