The 30-share BSE Sensitive Index (sensex) finished lower for the second straight day today as traders cut their exposures in heavyweight bluechip stocks due to continued uncertainty over US-Iraq war.

However, buying in technology stocks pared losses. After trading in a band of 39.11 points, the sensex ended with a loss of 18.14 points at 3,219.88.
