Solar Industries surges on funds buying

SBI Mutual Fund and Kotal Mahindra Mutual Fund have bought a combined 559,109 equity shares at Rs 3,100 per share.

Solar Industries has surged 11% to Rs 3,430 on BSE, erasing most of its yesterday’s loss, after local mutual funds bought three percent stake in the company through open market.

On Monday, October 26, SBI Mutual Fund and Kotal Mahindra Mutual Fund has purchased a combined 559,109 equity shares representing 3% of total equity of Solar Industries at an average price of Rs 3,100 per share.

SBI Mutual Fund acquired 455,609 shares, while Kotak Mahindra Mutual Fund Kotak Select Focus Fund purchased 103,500 shares on the BSE, the bulk deals data shows.

Oman India Joint Investment Fund however, had sold its entire 4.28% stake or 774,195 equity shares of Solar Industries via bulk deal, data shows.

Solar Industries is the largest manufacturer, suppliers and exporters of commercial explosives and explosive accessories in India.

Yesterday, the stock had fallen 10% from Rs 3,451 to Rs 3,102 on the BSE.

At 12:45 pm, the stock was up 10% at Rs 3,407 on the BSE. A combined 6,043 shares changed hands on the counter on the BSE and NSE.
