Sooji rises on festive demand

Sooji prices spurted by Rs 40 per 50 kg on the wholesale grains market today on pick up in demand in view of the festive season.

Elsewhere, other grains, including wheat and rice, continued to trade in restricted buying activity against adequate stocks. 

Traders said rising demand in view of the festive season mainly pushed up wholesale sooji prices. 

Sooji surged by Rs 40 to Rs 860-880 per 50 kg, while maida remained at previous levels of Rs 780-810 per 50.

Bajra fell by Rs 20 to Rs 1,000-1,010 per quintal.
