SpiceJet has rallied 6% to Rs 42.85, extending its previous day’s over 6% gain, after billionaire investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala’s wife Rekha Jhunjhunwala acquired 2.5 million shares in the company through open market transaction on Friday.
Rekha Jhunjhunwala purchased 2.5 million shares of SpiceJet for Rs 9.73 crore through a bulk deal for an average price of Rs 38.94 a share on Friday, the BSE data shows. The name of seller has not disclosed by the company.
Rekha Jhunjhunwala has nil holding in the third largest domestic carrier at the end of March quarter.
The stock opened at Rs 41.90 and hit a high of Rs 43.75 on BSE. Around 5.86 million shares changed hands on the counter so far against an average 8.5 million shares that were traded daily in past two weeks on BSE.
