Spot demand lifts mentha oil by 1%

Mentha oil prices were up by 1.03% to Rs 871.50 per kg in futures trade today, largely supported by rising demand in the spot markets.

In futures trading at the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in November gained Rs 8.90, or 1.03%, to Rs 871.50 per kg, with a trading volume of 55 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in October edged up by Rs 8.60, or 1.01%, to Rs 859.40 per kg, with a business turnover of 355 lots.

Marketmen said a firming trend at the spot market on pick up in demand amid restricted supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh, mainly influenced mentha oil prices at futures trade here.
