Dissatisfied over the recent recommendations of Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices (CACP) for kharif crops, Chief Ministers of Haryana and Punjab met the agricultural minister Nitish Kumar today.
The suggestion of a decentralised procurement system and a mere Rs 10 hike in the paddy price has ruffled the feathers of both the ministers and they have asked the Centre to let the Food Corporation of India (FCI) continue with procurement.
According to official sources, the government is likely to announce the minimum support price (MSP) by July 15.
