Steady positive opening

Following steady gains in heavyweights, tech, select banking and other old economy counters, the Sensex has moved up 13 points to 6,683 over its yesterday's close. The Nifty has added eight points to 2,098.

Reliance is up Rs 2 at Rs 541. While ITC has added Rs 5 to Rs 1,320, HLL is marginally up at Rs 152 in early trades.

Infosys has commenced with a steady gain of Rs 6 at Rs 2,190. Wipro and Satyam have also resumed at higher levels at Rs 711 and Rs 418, respectively.

SBI and ICICI Bank are up Rs 2 each at Rs 663 and at Rs 383, respectively. HDFC Bank, however, has shed 1.27% (Rs 7) to Rs 562.

Tata Power has advanced 3% (Rs 12) to Rs 421, while ONGC is up Rs 4 at Rs 824.

L&T has gained 1.56% (Rs 16) to Rs 1,018.

ACC has clocked a per cent gain (Rs 3) to Rs 376. Other cement pivotals have also commenced in the green with steady gains.

Hero Honda, however, has lost 1.53% (Rs 9) to Rs 555.
