Broking houses in Chandigarh may have gained from the current volatility in the stock market but do not want this to continue, as it might dissuade the retail investors in the long run.
The inter-day volatility has benefited the traders but small investors are at a loss. "The small investors, once burn their fingers, take a lot of time to revive the confidence in equity market," said Gurmeet Singh Chawla, director, Master Capital.
Speaking to Business Standard, Bhavmit Singh Chandoak, managing director, Tiger Wealth Management said, "The market is witnessing two trends. Firstly, the new investors acting very cautiously and investing through mutual fund. Secondly, the existing retail investors who were dormant in the past couple of years has started off-loading their stake."
As the market is approaching new record highs. Further, the existing investors are restricting themselves to limited exposure.'
