Venkys India plunged to its lower limit of 20% at Rs 124 in early trades following the bird flu scare in Maharashtra. The stock has now recouped some of its loss, but is still down over 12% at Rs 136. The counter has clocked a huge volume of around 2.18 lakh shares compared to its daily traded two-week average volume of around 5,800-odd shares. ICICI Bank is trading marginally in the red at Rs 584, but off its day's low of Rs 577, following the announcment that the bank has entered into a co-operation deal with Germany-based BayernLB. Jain Irrigation has rebounded into positive zone. The stock, from a high of Rs 217, had slipped into red to touch a low of Rs 211. The stock is marginally up at Rs 214. The company has acquired Mumbai-based Parle Bisleri's mango processing unit for Rs 14 crore. Punj Loyd has secured a Rs 125.07 crore order from HPCL. However, the stock continues to trade in negative zone, and is now down 2.4% at Rs 1,077. Earlier in the day, the stock had touched a high of Rs 1,109 before falling to a low of Rs 1,060. The Sensex has crossed the 10,000-mark and is now is up 33 points at 10,014. |
