Stocks to watch: TCS, Bajaj Auto Q1 results eyed

The markets are likely to open on a flat note with a positive bias tracking mixed global cues. TCS and Bajaj Auto Q1 results will be keenly observed by the investors. 
 
Asian equities gained on Thursday, lifted by another record-high close on Wall Street, while the euro probed recent lows against the dollar amid speculation the U.S. Federal Reserve is tilting toward tighter monetary policy in light of a stronger economy.
 
MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan .MIAPJ0000PUS rose 0.2 percent.
 
Tokyo's Nikkei .N225 gained 0.3 percent, helped by a weaker yen. Furthermore, SGX Nifty is quoting at 7,653.00 levels down by 0.03%
 
 
The Dow .DJI closed at a record high on Wednesday, boosted by merger news involving an offer by Twenty-First Century Fox Inc (FOXA.O) to buy Time Warner Inc (TWX.N) and strong earnings from blue chips such as Intel Corp InTC.O. [.N]
 
Stocks in focus:
 
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) which will report its results for the quarter ended June 30 post markets hours later today. 
 
Bajaj Auto, India's second largest two-wheeler maker, will declare its first quarter (April-June) results later during the day.
 
 
Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) declared that the government's move to disallow it recovery of certain costs relating to the D6 gas block in the Krishna-Godavari basin (KG-D6) did not amount to a penalty and was also not in line with the contract the two had signed.
 
Kotak Mahindra Bank has posted 11 per cent growth in consolidated net profit for the quarter ended June, primarily owing to a rise in net interest income. For the corresponding period last year, the bank's net profit stood at Rs 627 crore
 
Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) received environment and other nods for its 8,481 hectares special economic zone, a move that will pave way for setting up facilities like desalination and effluent treatment plants besides boosting exports.
