GE Shipping has informed the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) that it has signed a contract for acquiring a 1,52,485 deadweight tonne Suexmax crude carrier.
 
The vessel, built in 1989, will join the company's fleet by the end of this month. Earlier this month, the company had signed a contract for a second-hand Aframax crude carrier.
 
With the addition of Suezmax and Aframax to its fleet, the company's crude tanker tonnage will record a growth of 288 per cent, post March 31, 2003.
