Striking stock brokers today met top officials of the finance ministry to express concern about the dip in market volumes following the introduction of the new trading system.
In Mumbai, brokers presented a memorandum to the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) chairman DR Mehta, explaining the problems faced by various market participants. Mehta has agreed to study the proposals. The brokers also met Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh to enlist support for their cause.
