Sugar at 6-mth low, slips on poor demand

Prices dipped as speculators reduced their positions

Sugar futures for February declined by Rs 19, or 0.6%, to trade at Rs 3,128 per quintal, a level last seen in July 2012, in 35,620 lots.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX), the March contract also shed Rs 15, or 0.47%, to Rs 3,184 per quintal, in 15,950 lots.

Prices dipped as speculators reduced their positions due to poor demand amid higher  upplies in physical markets.
