Sugar futures for February declined by Rs 5, or 0.15%, to trade at Rs 3,257 per quintal in 11,110 lots.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, the March contract also shed Rs 2, or 0.06%, to Rs 3,288 per quintal in 11,110 lots.

Higher supplies in physical markets affected the sugar futures trade.

However, hopes that government would raise import duty on sugar limited the loss.
