Sugar prices fell on ample supply

Sugar prices fell by Rs 50 per quintal in the national capital today following reduced offtake against adequate stocks position. Marketmen said buying activity was negligible following adverse weather conditions.

They said increased supply in the market created adequate stocks positions and helped in pulling down the sugar prices. 

Sugar ready medium and second grade prices moved down from Rs 2,735-2,835 and Rs 2,730-2,830 to Rs 2,715-2,800 and Rs 2,700-2,790 per quintal.

Mill delivery medium and second grade price also slipped from Rs 2,575-2,725 and Rs 2,565-2,715 to Rs 2,525-2,700 and Rs 2,515-2,690 per quintal.

Following are today's rates in Rs per quintal:

 

Sugar ready M-30 2,715-2,800 and S-30 2,700-2,790
Mill delivery M-30 2,525-2,700 and S-30 2,515-2690

Sugar mill gate prices (excluding duty): Kinonni 2,650, Asmoli 2,640, Mawana 2,600, Titabi 2,600,  Thanabhavan 2,580, Budhana 2,570 and Dorala 2,590
