Sugar prices fell further by Rs 90 per quintal in the national capital today on sustained selling by stockists and millers on sluggish demand.

Marketmen said sustained selling by stockists on subdued demand amid adequate stocks position mainly pulled down the wholesale sugar prices.

Reduced offtake by soft-drinks and ice-cream makers due to current rain also influenced the market sentiment, they said.

Sugar ready medium and second grade prices fell further by Rs 90 each to Rs 2,800-2,900 and Rs 2,790-2,890 per quintal, respectively.

Similarly, the mill delivery medium grade and second grade prices traded lower by the same margin to Rs 2,700-2,800 and Rs 2,690-2,790 per quintal.
