Sugar rises on fresh buying support

Sugar prices rose up to Rs 25 per quintal in the national capital today on fresh buying support by stockists and retailers to meet the ongoing marriage season demand.

Sugar ready medium grade prices moved up byRs 25 each to Rs 3,000-3,125 and Rs 2,975-3,000 per quintal.

Similarly, the mill delivery medium and second grade prices went up by the same margin to Rs 2,800-2,950 and Rs 2,785-2,925 per quintal.

In the millgate section, sugar Kinonni,Asmoli and Mawana were up by Rs 20 each to Rs 2,920, Rs 2,900 and Rs 2,860 per quintal.

The following were today's quotation in Rs per quintal.

Sugar ready M-30 3,000-3,125 and S-30 2,975-3,000
Mill delivery M-30 2,800-2,950 and S-30 2,785-2,925

Sugar mill gate prices (excluding duty): Kinonni 2,920, Asmoli 2,900, Mawana 2,860, Titabi 2,830, Thanabhavan 2,800, Budhana 2795 and Dorala 2,845
